Ph.D - Chief Information Security Officer, Interval International
Sasan Hamidi is currently the chief information security officer (CISO) at Interval International, Inc. the leading timeshare exchange company in the world. With close to 2000 employees and twenty six offices worldwide, Interval has led its industry for the past thirty years. Interval International is under the umbrella of IAC (www.iac.com) with sister organizations such as Hotels.com, Lendingtree, Home Shopping Network (HSN), Ask.com, Match.com and sixty others. In his capacity as CISO, Hamidi has responsibilities that include the safeguarding of all information assets, regulatory compliance (SOX, PCI/DSS, California SB 1386, etc.), and on-line privacy matters on a global scale. He joined Interval in April of 2001 and maintains offices in Miami and Orlando, Florida. Prior to joining Interval, Hamidi was the director of security and enterprise architecture at General Electric Power Systems. He was responsible for designing and maintaining a secure e-commerce architecture for GEPS. His previous position was with IBM Global Network Security (IGNS), where he was a Senior Project Manager responsible for the technical security audit of all IGNS global networks. As part of his position, he regularly conducted vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
